Election season is in full swing and true to our roots, DC Bocce is jumping on the bandwagon, offering area bocce enthusiasts and politicos a chance to cast their votes in a campaign-themed, single-elimination bocce tournament (for cash)! The Party Animals Tournament, hosted at one of the Hill’s most popular staffer haunts, The 201 Bar, offers teams a chance to “register” for a party and play to predict the outcome of the election. The event celebrates all the quirks that make DC politically unique, including a political scandals costume contest and make-your-own campaign button station!
Tournament Registration Information
Registration is open for the tournament until November 1st, and the first 20 teams will receive a commemorative cup and additional tournament drink specials. The tournament champs will be awarded a $300 cash prize, the first-ever offered by DC Bocce, and of course fancy trophies to commemorate the event! Register one of two ways:
- Create a team - the team's captain creates the team and pays the $100 team registration fee (4 players are required per team)
- Join a team - after your captain creates the team, use your team's password (set up by the captain) to add yourself to the team, no payment necessary
If you are new to bocce don't worry, it's easy to pick-up and learn on the fly and you can join us a bit early for a tutorial. Get your party animal on and register for the tournament TODAY!
Costumes, Drinks, and Election Fun & Games!
A chance at bocce glory is only part of the fun. In the spirit of Halloween, we'll also be hosting a Costume Contest for the Best Political Scandal Costumes, with The 201 Bar gift certificate to the winner. Show up in your election spirt with themed shirts, campaign slogans, and enthusiasm for voting, and make the most of our make-your-own Campaign Button Station. PLUS, we'll have fantastic drink specials throughout the event, and for all you college football fans, games will be showing as well!
